Advocacy
We work alongside nonprofits to help them fulfill their missions and achieve their legislative, political, and advocacy goals. As true partners to the organizations we serve, we participate in strategic planning and help clients progress their agendas while making informed, values-aligned decisions and mitigating risk.
We assist our clients in drafting legislation, participating in the legislative process, and defending or challenging laws on federal and state constitutional grounds, and provide amicus support. We help our clients understand how legal developments might impact their work and their community, and what they can do about it. Our recent work includes collaborating with the National Network of Abortion Funds to file an amicus brief in the U.S. Supreme Court, and helping to successfully defend common sense gun safety laws in state and federal courts, including in the U.S. District Courts in Washington and Oregon.
