Pacifica Welcomes 2024 Summer Associates From Pacific Northwest Law Schools

“Everyone at Pacifica appreciates the opportunity to get to know these exceptional individuals, and to share our knowledge and experience with them at this important time in their development as students and future legal professionals.”

Pacifica Law Group is pleased to introduce our 2024 Summer Associates, Ariel Archie, Tyler King, Carley Matsumoto, and Molly Quillin. The members of this year’s Summer Associate class possess an impressive range of professional experience, including in public service, real estate law, politics, and as student leaders, advocates, and volunteers.

Pacifica’s Summer Associate program is central to the firm’s commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal profession. Our program focuses on recruiting and providing opportunities to law students from communities and backgrounds historically underrepresented in the legal profession. Summer associates work in our office in Seattle across our practice groups, and are exposed to a broad range of meaningful work and educational experiences.

“We are delighted to have Ariel, Tyler, Carley, and Molly with us this summer,” said Pacifica managing partner Denise Stiffarm. “Everyone at Pacifica appreciates the opportunity to get to know these exceptional individuals, and to share our knowledge and experience with them at this important time in their development as students and future legal professionals.”

Ariel Archie is a rising third-year law (3L) student at Seattle University School of Law. He is the chief of staff of the Western Region Black Law Students Association, and the immediate past president of the Seattle U Black Law Students Association. After spending the first weeks of his summer with Pacifica, Ariel has joined the King County Department of Public Defense as a Rule 9 intern in the Society of Counsel Representing Accused Persons Division (SCARPD). This is Ariel’s second summer working with Pacifica.

Tyler King is a rising second-year law (2L) student at Seattle University School of Law, and a 2024 Gregoire Fellow. Gregoire Fellows spend the summers after their first year of law school working at both a Seattle-area law firm and either a Seattle-based corporation or government agency. Tyler spent the first part of his summer with Pacifica, and will also work for Vulcan Real Estate.

Carley Matsumoto is a rising 2L student at Seattle University School of Law, who prior to law school worked as a legal assistant at another Seattle-area law firm specializing in real estate law. Carley has also previously interned at Seattle-based political consultancies and Reproductive Freedom for All, formerly NARAL Pro-Choice America.

Molly Quillin is a 3L student at University of Oregon School of Law, where she is also the newly elected editor in chief of the Oregon Law Review. Molly will spend the latter portion of her summer with Pacifica after clerking for the Wing Luke Civil Rights Division of the Washington State Office of the Attorney General. This is Molly’s second summer with Pacifica.

The application window for the 2025 Pacifica Law Group Summer Associate program will open in early December, 2024. Follow Pacifica on LinkedIn to stay up to date on our Summer Associate program opportunities.
