Pacifica Law Group Submits Amicus Brief in U.S. Supreme Court Case Challenging Mississippi’s Previability Abortion Ban

Together with co-counsel at If/When/How, Pacifica Law Group attorneys Alanna Peterson, Paul Lawrence, Jessica Skelton, and Sarah Washburn, with support from Sydney Henderson, Thien Tran and Valentina Barei submitted an amicus brief on behalf of organizations and individuals supporting reproductive justice in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a challenge to the constitutionality of a Mississippi law banning abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy (with limited exceptions) currently pending before the U.S. Supreme Court. The amicus brief explains that abortion bans like this one are informed by and perpetuate abortion stigma and will inevitably lead to the further criminalization of people who end their own pregnancies.
