Proud to Celebrate the Opening of the New Overlook Walk on Seattle’s Waterfront

We are proud to acknowledge the significant contributions of Pacifica attorneys to Seattle's Waterfront Park project.

Pacifica Law Group is proud to join the City of Seattle, Friends of Waterfront Park, and the wider Seattle community in celebrating the opening of the Overlook Walk, the newest phase in the effort to reshape Seattle’s waterfront into an open, accessible, and awe-inspiring public space that highlight’s the City’s unique natural environment. The elevated public park links Pike Place Market’s MarketFront expansion with the newly opened Seattle Aquarium Ocean Pavilion and the Waterfront Park.

As we toast this milestone for Seattle and the Waterfront Park project, we are also proud to acknowledge our Pacifica colleagues and their significant contributions to the realization of this new vision for the city’s waterfront.

Gerry Johnson is a longtime volunteer leader of the overall waterfront project, and currently serves as chair of the City’s oversight committee advising the Mayor and City Council on project development and operation. Gerry also serves as counsel to the Pike Place Market Preservation & Development Authority (PDA), and represented the Market in all aspects of the development of the MarketFront project.

Stacey Crawshaw-Lewis served as bond counsel to the PDA in financing portions of the MarketFront project and represented the Seattle Aquarium in connection with City agreements regarding the financing and other aspects of the development and operation of its new Ocean Pavilion, which integrates with the Overlook Walk, providing free public viewing of the new Coral Triangle exhibit.

Faith Pettis and Jon Jurich represented the Washington State Housing Finance Commission in its issuance of tax-exempts bonds to finance the Seattle Aquarium’s new Ocean Pavilion.

The opening of the Overlook Walk establishes the first direct, pedestrian-friendly connection between Pike Place Market and Seattle’s waterfront promenade.  Far more than a simple walkway, the Overlook Walk includes play areas for kids, public plazas and seating offering majestic views, terraces landscaped with native plants, art installations, an elevator, and other amenities.

As a law firm founded to serve Pacific Northwest clients and communities, we are honored to contribute to the Waterfront Park project and to celebrate this significant step in its completion.
