Our Summer Associate positions offer law students committed to working in the Pacific Northwest after graduation an opportunity to learn and test their skills, while experiencing the day-to-day life of practicing in a law firm driven by the values that shape our region. We offer our Summer Associates a well-rounded experience by exposing them to a broad range of meaningful work across our practice groups.
EXPERIENCE
Civic-Minded Law
Our Summer Associate program is our opportunity to share our vision of the legal profession with the next generation. In our program, law students learn about our various practice areas and how a civic-minded firm operates. As a Summer Associate, you’ll work in our Seattle office across our practice groups, fielding meaningful assignments, assisting with critical research, drafting important court briefs and memoranda, and joining depositions, client meetings, and legal proceedings. You’ll participate in a wide variety of professional development opportunities, which may include completing a substantive writing project, attending public meetings, participating in practice group gatherings and lunches, observing oral arguments and other proceedings, and meeting with judges in chambers.

Our Summer Associate program prioritizes recruiting and supporting law students whose communities and experiences are underrepresented in the legal profession and in private law firms.
